Career Technical Education

Career Technical Education classes are offered to assist those who wish to increase their employment potential. Students may learn to use one or more computer applications listed below.  The computer operating system is Microsoft Windows.

 

*Typing Certification Tests are offered by appointment only on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday afternoons through Thursday, May 28th . From June 1st through July 21st, typing tests will be offfered on Mondays and Tuesdays from 12:00-1:00, by appointment only. Contact the School for Adults front office, 209-933-7455 to schedule a test. The Typing Certification Test fee is $10, cash only*

General Office Course Description

Accountant/ Bookkeeper

Course Overview

This course covers the fundamentals of accounting theory, procedures and terminology. The accounting cycle is presented in a logical sequence with an introduction to buiness transactions, general journals and financial procedures.

  • College Accounting: Materials fee $50

Accountant/Bookkeeper - Course Description

Administrative Medical Assistant/ Front Office (AMA)

Course Overview:

These courses will prepare students for entry-level employment in the front office of hospitals, private practice, and clinics. Emphasis is on basic terminology, medical billing, international classification of disease, current procedure terminology, appointment scheduling, filing, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 2019. The student will practice skills in classroom activities, practical work, tests, prepare written reports and other documents. Students also have opportunities to improve their interpersonal skills

  • Keyboarding: Registration/Materials fee $40
  • Computers in the Medical Office MS 2019: Registration/Materials fee $120 (*requires access to MediSoft 9E)
  • Medical Office Administration: Registration/Materials fee $120
  • Computers in the Medical Field 8th Edition: Registration/Materials fee $120
  • Medical Terminology: Registration/Materials fee $120
